Chia Seed 'Egg'

Cha-cha-cha chia seeeeds! These incredible seeds are a pantry staple in my kitchen. In the ancient Mayan language , ‘Chia’ means ‘Strength’. Recipe

Makes one chia ‘egg’, for one chicken egg substitute. For more than one egg substitute, please multiply accordingly.

Prep : 5 minutes

Set : 5-15 minutes

Total : 10-20 minutes

Chia ‘Egg’

  • 1 TBS organic chia seeds

  • 3 TBS cold water

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in a small bowl.

  2. Let chia seeds sit and gel for at least 5 minutes, and up to15.

  3. Stir twice while chia ‘egg’ is setting.

  4. Next, follow directions for chia ‘egg’ in the recipe you are using.
