Devotional
One of Honne Elixirs favorite sweets! Inspired by Honey Mama’s delicious chocolate confections to create my own spin with my favorite herbs and ingredients. This beautiful devotional herbal chocolate is Ayurvedically-inspired, vegetarian and gluten-free, paired with Rose Powder, Banyan Botanicals Shankhapushpi Powder and Tulsi Powder (holy basil). I love this recipe because enjoying a few pieces of this herbal infused chocolate puts me in an elevated, creative, devotional state of mind and open-heart. It's homemade, simple to make, and consistently made with love. See recipe below…
First, I begin with an Ayurveda practice before cooking that I love, helping to keep past, present, or future worries and thoughts from being cooked in or stirred into the food. To ground me into the moment before gathering the ingredients to have everything in arms reach. I close my eyes and take a few rounds of deep breaths.
Then, I like to sift the dry ingredients together, cacao + herbs. Whisking together a few times before I add the rest of the ingredients. Next, I fold in the dry and wet ingredients together until smooth, and all dry pockets have been incorporated.
Next, I place the devotional dough on parchment paper on a flat surface and use the back of a spoon to smooth out into a square / rectangle.
Now, folding the parchment paper over the dough I use a rolling pin to roll out for 1/4-1/2” thickness. Then, I chill the chocolate for at least one hour.
Once dough has chilled for at least an hour I trim the ends into square / rectangle form and into 1x1” squares. Makes about 24 squares for 1/4” and 12 for 1/2” thickness.
Enjoying this mix!! Devotional feels and vibes, complimenting this delicious elixir recipe while making and enjoying :)

Total : 35 min
Organic ingredients
Devotional Herbal Chocolate
1/3 C + 2 TBS Cacao Powder, sifted
1/2 TBS Shankhapushpi Powder, sifted (optional)
3/4 tsp dried Rose Powder, sifted (optional)
1 tsp dried Tulsi Powder, sifted (optional)
Pinch of Natural Mineral Salt
1 TBS creamy Almond Butter
1.5 TBS Coconut Oil, melted
3 TBS Honey
1/4 tsp fresh Lemon Zest
Directions
Sift together dried herbs, if using, and cacao powder. Whisk a few times to incorporate all ingredients. Substitute herb amount for cacao powder, if deciding to omit. If omitting herbs, adjust coconut oil, honey to taste, and consistency to soft fudge consistency.
Add remaining ingredients, aside from lemon zest. Mixing thoroughly. Then using the back of a spoon wooden/metal works great here to fold in all the ingredients along the side of the bowl. Including, all dry cacao pockets until smooth.
Place chocolate on a large piece of parchment paper on flat surface. I like to use the back of a spoon to smooth into square/rectangle shape. Then, rolling out with a rolling pin into rectangular/square form 1/4-1/2” thickness.
Refrigerate at least one hour before cutting into 1x1” squares. Chocolate will need to stay refrigerated. I like to set an intention before I enjoy the chocolate.
