Creamy Chocolate Chai Latte with Shankhapushpi

Creamy, plant-based and Ayurvedically-inspired, chocolate chai latte! With mood boosting cacao powder and optional Ayurvedic herb ally, Shankhapushpi powder. Supporting concentration and blood flow to the brain; among other benefits, read more about this incredible plant here!

As a past mixologist for nine years, and studying the fundamentals of Ayurveda through Banyan Botanicals LAI program, I love to alchemize food and beverages.

This chai tea is delightfully spicy, and mildly stimulating with black tea, yet not too much! So, it’s divine in the afternoon around 3pm, helping to wake the brain up after a cat nap.

Makes 1, 6oz elixir

Creamy Chocolate Chai Latte with Shankhapushpi

  • 1/4 tsp Banyan Botanicals Shankhapushpi powder (optional)

Directions

  1. First, begin by heating the water.

  2. Next, for chai tea bag, steep in a heat resistant mug/ vessel with 4 oz hot water for at least five minutes. Then, add remaining dry ingredients first and stir. Finally, add maple syrup and alternative milk, stir.

  3. For chai powder - add chai, cacao, shankhapushpi powders and maple syrup to a heat resistant mug/vessel. Then, add hot water and alternative milk, stir and enJOY!
