Spicy Mint Yogurt Sauce

This fresh, creamy, sweet, spicy, and tangy vegetarian yogurt sauce is dancing with flavor and flair. Delicious with cooked vegetables and rice dishes (suggestions below). Fresh mint leaves support in “dispers(ing) fluids and heat, leaving a cooling after effect” . Lemon balm, calming the nervous system, both aiding in calming the digestive systems. (pg. 156-158)

Organic ingredients

Gather: small bowl, ingredients, spoon, knife, cutting board, measuring spoons and cups, grater / microplane, colander.

Spicy mint yogurt sauce

  • 1/2 C whole milk Yogurt

  • 1/2 oz or 1 TBS Lime juice

  • 1/8 tsp / salt to taste

  • 1.5 TBS fresh Mint leaves, diced

  • 1.5 TBS fresh Lemon Balm leaves, diced (optional)

  • 1 1/8 tsp Maple syrup

  • 1/4 tsp finely grated fresh Ginger

  • 1 TBS Coconut flakes

Directions

  1. First, gather ingredients and wash hands. Then, rinse mint and lemon balm with filtered water. If omitting lemon balm, substitute amount for mint.

  2. Next, dice/small chop the mint and lemon balm. Peel ginger and finely grate. Juice lime.

  3. Add yogurt, salt, mint and lemon balm, coconut flakes, lime juice, maple syrup, and ginger to small bowl and stir three times. Taste, add more salt if needed.
