Spinning Thoughts

You know that moment when you’re listening to a track/radio/playlist and your favorite song comes on? Maybe you bust out your favorite moves or burst out in song. Personally, I love playing it as loud as possible and on repeat, over, and over, and over again, until I’m essentially sick of it.

Thoughts are like vinyl, when you get sick of the track, flip/change the song.

I find some thoughts to express themselves in the same way, except they aren’t my favorite tracks. Maybe you can relate to this? It could be something somebody said or did that gets stuck on repeat, lasting days, weeks, months, sometimes even years. Repeating over, and over, and over again. It’s so frustrating and draining!

Flip/change the thought

Social conditioning, gender norms, systemic patriarchal oppression, and childhood experiences shaped my mental and emotional lens that created greater disconnection from myself and others. I molded myself to be liked because I wanted to belong and rebelled out of fear of losing myself. I felt frustrated with what seemed to be further disconnection. When what I really wanted was to create a deeper connection with myself and those around me. For most of my life I didn’t know what my needs and feelings were. Now, I recognize the power and responsibility that comes from being connected to myself in this way. To love, accept, and forgive past parts of myself that I hadn’t and didn’t know how to. That has created an attitude shift, new choices, that fosters forgiveness and healing, to become less harmful towards self, others, and the planet.

Seeding Thoughts

Kindling the courage, vulnerability, and trust to follow my dreams has been extremely challenging and yet so incredibly rewarding and gratifying. I didn’t think I could create or make it happen. So. Many. Times. I want to normalize getting unstuck from mental emotional energetic loops, and to inspire others to living their lives to the fullest, so that we create ripple effects within ourselves, community, and world. My goal for this blog and the way I lead my life, how I choose to show up in every moment, to create safe inclusive spaces of and for authenticity, vulnerability, uncomfortable conversations, collaboration and community. It’s your mental landscape, seed the thoughts you want to flourish to create change inside and out; revolutionize.
